Beyonce
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (born September 4, 1981), commonly known as Beyoncé, is an American R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she enrolled in various performing arts schools, and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Knowles rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of girl group Destiny’s Child and went on to sell over 50 million records worldwide with the group.
After a series of commercial successes with the group, Knowles released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, in June 2003. The album became one of the most-successful albums of that year, spawning the number-one singles “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”. It earned Knowles five Grammy Awards in a single night in 2004, and its reception signaled her viability as a solo artist. The disbandment of Destiny’s Child in 2005 facilitated her continued success; she released her second album, B’Day, in 2006, which spawned the UK number-one singles “Déjà Vu” and “Beautiful Liar”, and the worldwide hit “Irreplaceable”. Knowles will release her third solo album titled I Am… Sasha Fierce on November 18, 2008.
The success of her solo albums has established Knowles as one of the most marketable artists in the industry. She has added acting and endorsement deals to her repertoire. In 2006, she starred in the comedy film The Pink Panther, and, in the same year, scored the main role in the film adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical Dreamgirls, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Knowles launched in 2004 her family’s fashion line, House of Deréon, and among her many lucrative commercial deals are Pepsi, Tommy Hilfiger, and L’Oréal. Knowles has been with husband Jay-Z since 2002, though they have been discreet about their relationship. After much speculation, they married on April 4, 2008. Knowles has sold more than 75 million albums through out her career together with her album sales with Destiny’s Child.

Korn
Korn (occasionally typeset as KoRn or KoЯn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, along with other bands at the time, they have also inspired many nu metal and alternative metal bands throughout the mid 1990s and early 2000s.
The band’s catalogue consists of nine consecutive debuts in the top ten of the Billboard 200,[2] including a compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol.1, and their untitled eighth album, released on July 31, 2007. To date, Korn has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, including 16.5 in the U.S., while earning six Grammy nominations—two of which they have won.
Although Korn has sometimes been considered to be a part of the alternative metal and nu metal genres, they do not consider themselves to be a part of these genres. Jonathan Davis is quoted as saying:
“We’ve spawned a lot of clones, but let me explain… Well, I hate the nu metal term. We have always just been a band that rocks. We didn’t like when people called us a metal band, we are just Korn. People just use these terms when they cannot describe something, but nu metal… when so many bands started making music that sounded like us, that is when nu metal was born. We don’t have anything to do with it for real, I feel. I wouldn’t wanna call Red Hot Chili Peppers a funk band, and we are not metal or nu metal, we are Korn. Nu metal is just a term that doesn’t mean anything.”

Akon, whose real name in Aliaune Thiam, is a Senegalese-American hip hop and R&B singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer. Akon rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of his single “Locked Up” from his debut album Trouble. His second album, Konvicted, earned him a Grammy Award nomination for the single “Smack That.” He is the founder of Konvict Muzik and Kon Live Distribution. How did Akon start
As the son of famed jazz musician Mor Thiam, Akon was raised in a musical setting and taught to play several instruments. At the age of 7, he moved to New Jersey. During Akon’s alleged time in jail, he began to understand his music abilities and developed an appreciation for his musical background. When he was released he immediately began recording his music and sending out demo tapes. Akon’s unique blend of West African-style vocals and hip-hop lyricism eventually caught the ears of executives at Universal Records
